F316/X2CrNiMo17-12-2 stainless steel

F316 (X2CrNiMo17-12-2) is an austenitic stainless steel with added molybdenum, which enhances its corrosion resistance—particularly against chlorides and other aggressive agents. It is equivalent to AISI 316 and 022Cr17Ni12Mo2 (GB), and is widely used in marine, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries for its superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Benefits

Benefits:
Superior Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion, outperforming 304 in aggressive environments.
Excellent Mechanical Strength: Maintains high strength and ductility across a wide temperature range.
Outstanding Weldability: Suitable for all standard welding processes; intergranular corrosion resistance is retained after welding.
Good Formability and Cleanability: Suitable for sanitary and precision applications in hygienic environments.
Non-Magnetic in Annealed State: May become slightly magnetic after cold working.
